Nigerian student have been up and down asking if the 2019/2020 JAMB cut-off mark for universities, polytechnics and colleges of Education is out.
2019 UTME was conducted between April 11 and 18, and majority thought the result will be out in a few days as promised by the Board.
It was after a long waiting of three weeks before JAMB released the result.
Just like the students anticipated the UTME results, they are also anticipating this year’s cut-off marks for universities, polytechnics and Colleges of Education.
Is 2019/2020 JAMB Cut-Off Marks Out?
“What JAMB has done is to recommend; We will only determine the minimum, whatever you determine as your admission cut-off mark is your decision.
“We should not be emotional in fixing Nigeria Universities cut-off mark; we need not over-dramatise issue such as cut-off mark.
“In order to enhance transparency in our educational sector, no automated admission for those without the necessary requirements will be tolerated by the board.”
The above statement is what has been circulating online, with most news platforms claiming it was made by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede recently regarding this year’s cut-off marks, however, Reporterspress can report that the statement was not made this year but last year during JAMB’s 2018 Combined Policy Meetingon Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.
What Should Students Expect As JAMB 2019/2020 Cut-Off Marks?
It was recalls that below were the JAMB 2018/2019 cut-off marks for
Universities — 140
Polytechnics — 120
Innovative enterprising institutes — 110
Colleges of education — 100.
It is expected that the above cut-off marks for the 2018/2019 will most likely remain the same for the 2019/2020 academic session.
