The immediate past governor of Imo State and currently the Nigerian Senator, Rochas Okorochas has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over misappropriation of state fund worth N7.5bn fraud.
A source said, “We grilled him on various suspicious transactions carried out by his administration particularly towards the end of his tenure. He also responded to allegations of money laundering and the alleged acquisition of property with state funds. He has been directed to return on Monday.”
When asked for an update on the investigation against Okorocha on Thursday, the acting EFCC spokesman, Tony Orilade, said, “It is still ongoing.”
